Things to do in the area
A day visit to Barrydale is on route to the farm and a great town to stop off and explore, shops, restaurants, craft beer and arts and crafts shops. Drop in at the Magpie Art Collective to see functional art like light fittings and lamp shades, often using recycled materials. If you buy one, you’ll be in good company; two of their chandeliers used to hang in the Obamas’ private quarters at the White House in the USA.

You may be disappointed to know that the Ronnie’s Sex Shop is a pub and pit-stop on Route 62, just under 30km from Barrydale on the road to Ladismith.

Experience Cape Succulent Seeds, Etwin Aslander’s celebrated nursery featured in CNN’s documentary on ethical succulent propagation. A must-visit treasure along Route 62 en route to Keurkloof Farm.
